Is Lipo 360 Worth It? Realistic Results, Recovery, and Long-Term Benefits

Social media can make Lipo 360 seem like a quick and easy way to achieve a more sculpted waistline. In many ways, it is, but it's still a surgical procedure. Although the risks are relatively low when performed by an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon, the decision to undergo any surgery deserves careful thought and consideration.
At PURE Plastic Surgery in Miami, Florida, our double-board-certified plastic surgeons want you to feel confident and informed before moving forward with Lipo 360. Here is everything you need to know about this popular body contouring procedure, including what to expect from your results and recovery and whether it’s earned a “worth it” rating from our patients.
What Does Lipo 360 Do That Standard Liposuction Doesn’t?
Standard liposuction targets one body area at a time. If you have one or two very specific concerns you’d like to address, like submental fullness beneath the chin or a buffalo hump on the upper back, this approach is fine, but for patients who want to improve their overall body contours, “spot treatment” isn’t going to give you the smoothest results.
That’s where Lipo 360 comes in.
Lipo 360 treats the entire circumference of the torso in a single session, used for comprehensive fat removal in the abdomen, flanks and back. Instead of treating each area as an isolated concern, it considers the entire midsection as a whole, creating balanced, proportional results. “With Lipo 360, your body shape flows naturally,” explains Dr. Earle. “Transitions are smoother and slopes are more gradual for a really cohesive look.”
Is Lipo 360 Worth It?
For the vast majority of patients, the answer is a resounding “yes.” Lipo 360 has one of the highest satisfaction rates of any body contouring procedure we perform because the results are visible from every angle.
That said, Lipo 360 is designed to enhance shape, not dramatically lower the number on the scale, so patients hoping it would replace diet and exercise tend to walk away disappointed. Whether it will be “worth it” for you depends on your anatomy, goals and expectations.
At PURE, the happiest patients tend to share a few things in common:
- They're close to their ideal weight
- They have good skin elasticity
- They came in wanting something specific, like a tighter waist or a more defined hourglass figure, not just a vague sense of “smaller”
Here’s what some of these patients had to say about their Lipo 360:
“I had a lipo 360/bodytite done last year and I’m so happy with my results. Dr Earle completely changed my life.”
— Roxana R.
“I got lipo 360 and a bbl revision with Dr. Vidal. Let’s just say I regret not going with her sooner. She is amazing. Love my results 🥰”
— Lala V.
“I traveled out of state to visit (lipo 360 + BBL) and I loved my experience so much, I visited them again for another procedure (breast augmentation revision).”
— Steph B.
“From beginning to end, my experience at PURE was flawless. Dr. Wegerif was thorough, honest, and VERY detail oriented. Absolutely obsessed with my results!”
— Madison R.
How to Determine If Lipo 360 Is Right for You
If you’ve decided that Lipo 360 sounds like a match for your goals, there are a few factors we consider to determine if you’ll be a good candidate. Here’s what we look for at PURE.
The Right Patient
Lipo 360 is ideal for patients bothered by stubborn fat around the midsection, whether due to hormones, genetics or simple bad luck in the fat-distribution department. Good skin elasticity matters, too, since the skin needs to contract to fit the new contour once the fat is gone. Nonsmokers heal better, which is why quitting before surgery is a requirement at our practice.
The Right Expectations
It is important to understand from the beginning that Lipo 360 is not a weight loss procedure, nor can it address loose or sagging skin. Those who have major skin laxity after pregnancy or weight loss may see better results with a tummy tuck or a combined approach. A healthy lifestyle after is also important. While removed fat cells are gone for good, any remaining fat cells can still expand with weight gain, compromising your long-term results.
The Right Goals
Lipo 360 is designed for circumferential shaping of the midsection. If you want to enhance your curves and sculpt a more defined figure, perfect. If you’re happy with your overall shape but are bothered by small, isolated areas of fat, standard liposuction is likely a better fit for your goals. If both of these apply to you, small areas can be added to your Lipo 360 procedure.
What Predicts Patient Satisfaction After Liposuction?
Research reviewed in Seminars in Plastic Surgery found that, among 600 liposuction patients, feeling good about their appearance after surgery was the strongest predictor of overall satisfaction. Unsurprisingly, those who loved their new contours were more likely to choose liposuction again and recommend the procedure to friends and family.
Weight gain afterward lowered both appearance ratings and satisfaction. That's exactly why honest candidacy screening and a stable weight matter as much as the surgery itself.
What Do Realistic Lipo 360 Results Look Like?
Lipo 360 can deliver absolutely stunning results, but you won’t leave the OR ready to show off on Miami’s beaches. Yes, targeted fat is immediately gone after liposuction, but swelling hides your new contours for at least three to four weeks. On top of that, you’ll be wearing a compression garment, so you won’t be able to truly appreciate your transformation just yet.
The real changes become apparent as swelling subsides, which occurs gradually over the next month. Once swelling goes down, you then have to wait for the skin and tissue to “settle,” a process that can take up to six months. Wearing your compression garment as instructed and getting your lymphatic massages can help speed things up, but you can’t rush healing. It’s important to give your body time to adjust to its new contours for the best long-term result. Patience is half the battle, but the wait is so worth it.
Once your final results have developed, you can expect to see:
- Balanced contours throughout the entire midsection
- A proportionate hourglass figure
- A sculpted waist and back
- A flatter, firmer abdomen
- Smooth transitions and soft curves that look completely natural
What Can I Expect During the Lipo 360 Recovery?
Days 1-7
Your midsection will feel sore and tight for the first few days. You will be up and walking carefully right away, though for only short distances, to help with circulation. Those with desk jobs are usually able to return to light work after several days, but people with more demanding jobs will need more time off. Rest and hydration will be your top priorities this first week.
Weeks 2-4
Swelling will begin to go away, and the worst of the soreness or bruising will fade. You will be back to most normal activities by this point, though we will advise you to avoid anything too strenuous. While it is still normal to feel a little sore, if you have any sharp pain or redness, or if you develop a fever, be sure to call right away.
Months 2-6
You will start to be able to see your new shape by month two. Compression is part of the deal almost this entire time, at least until the three-month mark. Our patients wear a faja essentially 23 hours a day for the first six weeks, then about 12 hours a day through week 12.
How to Make Lipo 360 Results Last
- Build Sustainable Habits Before Surgery: Patients who already eat and move well before surgery find it easier to maintain their results afterward.
- Follow the Compression Garment Protocol: The garment helps your skin settle against its new contour and reduces fluid buildup. Cutting the compression period short is a common mistake that can compromise your shape.
- Attend Every Follow-Up Appointment: Post-op visits let your surgeon catch anything concerning early on.
- Consider Complementary Procedures: As your contour improves, other areas may become new priorities. Our Loyalty Membership Rewards Program makes ongoing aesthetic planning more affordable.
Why the Surgeon Behind Lipo 360 Changes Everything
Outcomes are tied directly to pre-op evaluation, technique and aftercare, which is exactly why the person holding the cannula matters more than which package you pick. PURE Plastic Surgery is led by three double-board-certified plastic surgeons with the experience needed to consistently deliver beautiful, personalized results.
Our founder, Dr. S. Alexander Earle, is Ivy League-trained and a recognized leader when it comes to patient safety; Dr. Natalia Vidal graduated top of her class from Ponce School of Medicine and completed two surgical fellowships to enhance her expertise; and Dr. Garrett Wegerif is a pioneer in advanced body contouring techniques and served as chief resident at Cleveland Clinic Florida.
In addition to the training of our surgeons, our facility in Miami, FL, holds Joint Commission accreditation, the highest certification available for office-based surgery.
Can I Pair Other Procedures With Lipo 360?
Absolutely. Because Lipo 360 focuses on fat removal and contouring, it pairs naturally with procedures that add volume, tighten skin or further enhance your silhouette.
Brazilian Butt Lift
The fat removed during Lipo 360 can be purified and transferred to the buttocks for added volume and shape. This pairing slims the waist and enhances your curves in one session. Dr. Earle is a former president of the World Association of Gluteal Surgeons and has performed more than 2,000 ultrasound-guided BBLs.
Fat Transfer to Hips
If you don’t want or need a full BBL, fat transfer to the hips can fill in dips to create a more balanced silhouette without adding volume to the buttocks.
Rib Remodeling
Rib remodeling reshapes the lower rib cage to narrow the midsection. Combined with the fat removal of Lipo 360, it creates a more dramatic hourglass figure.
BodyTite & Renuvion J-Plasma Skin Tightening
BodyTite and Renuvion J-Plasma tighten loose skin from within. If you have mild to moderate skin laxity that doesn’t necessarily require surgical removal, pairing either of these devices with Lipo 360 can improve how the skin retracts over your new contours for optimal results.
Other Liposuction Areas & the Total Definer Package
Other liposuction areas can be added to your Lipo 360 procedure, including the upper back, chin, the front axillary bra bulge near the armpits, thighs, or, for men, the chest.
Lipo 360 can also be performed as part of our Total Definer package, which includes HD liposculpture with VASER, ab etching, BodyTite or Renubion for extra skin tightening, Morpheus8, and potentially fat transfer. For women, fat transfer to the hips and buttocks is a popular choice, while men often use fat transfer to enhance muscle definition in the chest, triceps or biceps. The Total Definer package comes with everything you need from pre-op to post-op for a smooth experience, including your aftercare, hotel stay, and more.
