What Is Renuvion?
Renuvion J-Plasma is a skin-tightening device that works beneath the surface of your skin to contract collagen fibers and stimulate new collagen production. This technology is the real deal.
Renuvion combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with helium gas that gets ionized into plasma. The RF heats your tissue to around 85°C, which is the sweet spot for making collagen fibers contract, while the helium plasma cools everything back down in less than a second.
The quick cooling allows your surgeon to deliver serious energy and tighten the skin without frying everything else around it. Other devices can’t pull this off. Either they don’t get hot enough to create meaningful change, or they get too hot and risk damaging the surrounding tissues.

What to Expect During Your Renuvion Treatment
Your journey begins with a thorough consultation, where we’ll evaluate your skin quality, discuss your goals and create your customized treatment plan. If you decide to move forward, we’ll go over booking information and give you pre-op instructions to help you prepare for your procedure (avoiding blood thinners, arranging a ride home, the usual).
When you arrive at our Joint Commission-accredited surgical facility in Miami, Florida (that's the highest level of certification for office-based surgery), we'll get you prepped and ready for treatment. Depending on what we're addressing and whether we're combining procedures, you'll have either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia to keep you comfortable.
Renuvion is almost always paired with liposuction and inserted through the same incisions to tighten everything up afterward. Once excess fat has been removed, the Renuvion wand goes in, and as it moves through the treatment area, it delivers that RF-plus-helium-plasma combination directly to the collagen-rich tissue supporting your skin. The treatment process itself is pretty quick, adding about 15 minutes per area to a standard liposuction procedure.
Renuvion Recovery & Results
Renuvion recovery is typically straightforward and doesn’t add much to your liposuction recovery. You’ll experience some discomfort, swelling and bruising in treated areas, but most patients are able to return to desk work and light activities about three to four days after treatment. Full healing takes place over several months as residual swelling subsides.
With Renuvion, you'll notice some immediate tightening, but your final results develop over the following months as collagen production increases. Most patients see their final results somewhere between six and nine months after their procedure. Because Renuvion creates actual structural changes to your tissue, it provides a long-lasting effect.
