Motiva® Preservé™
at PURE Plastic Surgery

A gentler, tissue-sparing approach to breast augmentation

Breast augmentation has evolved. For the right patient, it is now possible to enhance volume and shape without cutting through the muscle or disrupting the natural support structures of the breast. Motiva Preservé is a tissue-preservation approach to breast augmentation designed for women who want subtle, natural-looking results with smaller incisions and a faster recovery.

At PURE Plastic Surgery in Miami, Florida, double-board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. S. Alexander Earle, Dr. Natalia Vidal and Dr. Garrett Wegerif are among an elite group of providers trained to perform this technique, giving qualified patients a gentler, low-impact alternative to traditional breast augmentation.

How Is Motiva Preservé Different Than Traditional Breast Augmentation?

Traditional breast augmentation requires general anesthesia, larger incisions and electrocautery to create the implant pocket, along with insertion typically under or partially under the pectoral muscle (although for the right patient, over-the-muscle placement is possible). Because the chest muscle and tissues are disrupted, recovery tends to be longer, with most patients taking several weeks off from strenuous exercise or activities to heal.

Preservé takes a fundamentally different approach. Here's how the two compare:

Motiva Preservé vs. Traditional Breast Augmentation
  Motiva Preservé Traditional Breast Augmentation
Incision size 2.5 cm 3–5 cm
Anesthesia Sedation General anesthesia
Implant placement Over the muscle Over, under or partially under the muscle
Cautery used No — blunt dissection only Yes
Tissue preserved Preserves all tissue, including ligaments, nerves and muscle Varies; muscle may be partially detached and ligaments cut
Animation deformity None Possible with submuscular placement
Procedure time 20–30 minutes 60–90 minutes
Return to full activity 2 weeks 4–6 weeks
Max implant volume ~300 cc No practical upper limit
