After treatment, you can immediately return to your daily activities, as no recovery or downtime is required. However, your provider may advise you to limit strenuous exercise, avoid lying down or refrain from touching the treated areas for the first 24 hours to prevent the Botox from spreading. Is there any
downtime?
Following your Botox appointment, you might experience some swelling, redness or bruising at the injection sites. These side effects are typically minor and not overly noticeable — many of our patients come in to have Botox done on their lunch break and feel comfortable returning to work immediately after their procedure. To achieve the best results, please do not touch or rub the treated areas for at least 24 hours, as this can cause the neurotoxin to migrate and affect the nearby muscles. Strenuous exercise should also be limited until the next day.
Botox results
Botox takes some time to reduce muscle activity in treated areas, but you can expect to see your initial results within three to five days. The full effects should be visible after 10 to 14 days, providing you with a smoother and more youthful appearance for up to four months. As expression lines and wrinkles start to become more noticeable again, maintenance treatments can be performed to help you maintain your results. With regular use, Botox can help stop new wrinkles from forming, and less product may be needed to achieve the same outcome.
