PURE METHODs | Body

Today, there are so many effective methods that can help reshape and rejuvenate your body. Below you’ll find a list of many of the procedures we do at Pure Plastic Surgery using the latest techniques and equipment to get you the results you desire.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a body-sculpting procedure to remove fat that is unresponsive to dieting and exercising. Liposuction is also known as body contouring lipoplasty, or liposculpture.

Would I benefit from Liposuction?

Liposuction targets areas that are not responsive to diet and exercise. It can work on nearly any area of the body including thighs, arms, abdomen, flanks (the lateral region located between the hip and armpit), back, and neck. Liposuction results in a more slim and proportional figure, creating the best version of you.

What won’t liposuction do?

Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity nor loose or excess skin. It does not replace good eating habits or consistent exercise. You will want to be in good physical condition before having this procedure. Our doctors will carefully and clearly go through what liposuction can and cannot achieve during your private consultation. This would be the time to discuss goals and concerns related to liposuction.

What do I need to know for recovery from liposuction?

You will be wearing a compression garment for about six weeks following the procedure to prevent fluid accumulation. The incisions may leak for the first several days which is completely normal. Swelling and bruising is common immediately after the procedure. Sutures are absorbable and do not need to be removed. You will have a follow up with the doctor to ensure all healing is going smoothly. Most patients typically return to work after one week. You should be able to return to full activity and exercise in six weeks. Keep in mind there will be swelling for several months and the final result may not be evident until six months to a year after the operation.

Tummy tuck

Sometimes dieting and exercising are not enough to take care of extra skin or fat around the waistline. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) surgically removes excess skin or fatty deposits from the abdomen, and repositions the abdominal muscles into a tighter formation. This enhancement procedure is designed for those who wish to have a flatter and tighter stomach. It is also helpful in remedying the horizontal separation of abdominal muscles known as diastasis, which can occur following pregnancy.

Why might I benefit from a tummy tuck?

Extra skin does not tighten up on its own. Weight loss and exercise will result in a thinner you and better muscle tone. However, if your skin has been stretched over time, it won’t shrink even with weight loss and healthy lifestyle. A tummy tuck will remove all of the extra skin on the front of your abdomen, and leave you with a smooth, lean exterior and a look you love.

What is the post-operative care like for a Tummy Tuck?

When you go in for your consultation, the doctor will go over everything you need to know to ensure your healing post surgery goes safely and smoothly. Your first follow-up appointment will be the day after surgery. You can typically return to work in one to two weeks. You should not lift anything over ten pounds for six weeks. Most clients return to full activity and exercise in eight weeks.

Mommy makeover

A mommy makeover is a combination of procedures that are performed to get mothers their pre-baby bodies back. It is a fantastic procedure for those women who have undergone massive weight loss. Following pregnancy and weight loss, a woman’s body is often left with stretch marks on the abdomen. Additionally, the skin may not fully contract to its original position, leaving patients with loose, sagging skin.

Would I benefit from a Mommy Makeover?

Children are a gift to this world, but not your body! It is possible to restore your body even after child birth. You may benefit from a mommy makeover operation if you have excess abdominal skin and fat along with loose muscles in the abdominal wall resulting in an abdomen that bulges out. This is commonly seen after having children or losing a significant amount of weight. The breasts also may give off a sagging appearance postpartum and after weight loss. Liposuction is also available for areas of excess fat in the flanks (the lateral region located between the hip and axilla).

What are the details of Mommy Makeover Surgery?

To dive deeper into each individual surgery, we invite you to explore the links to tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), breast lift (mastopexy), breast enhancement (breast augmentation), and liposuction for an in depth understanding on each procedure and outcome.

The mommy makeover operation usually takes place in an outpatient surgery center. However, depending on how much surgery is performed, the operation may need to be done in a hospital and an overnight stay may be required for additional care. This decision is made by the surgeon. Your safety is their number one priority. The procedure normally takes about 3-5 hours, and your doctor will give you an estimate of procedure length during your consultation. The length of time corresponds with how much is being done.

Body Contouring

Surgical body contouring removes excess sagging skin and fat while improving the shape of the underlying support tissue. The result is a better-proportioned appearance with smoother contours.

Am I a good candidate for contouring?

If you have experienced a major weight loss, first off, congratulations! Unfortunately for many, loose skin can be left after major weight loss or as the body ages. Skin and tissues gradually lose their elasticity and cannot be made firm again naturally.

If you meet the following criteria you may be an ideal candidate for contouring:

  • Adults whose weight loss has stabilized after the course of 12-15 months.
  • Healthy individuals without medical conditions that impair healing or increase risk of surgery
  • Nonsmokers
  • Individuals that are committed to leading a healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and fitness

What is recovery like for body contouring?

During your recovery from body contouring surgery, dressings or bandages will be applied to your incisions following the procedure.

Small, thin tubes may be temporarily placed under the skin to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect.

You will be given specific instructions in your consultation including:

  • How to care for the surgical site(s)
  • Medications to aid healing
  • Specific signs to be aware of and look for at the surgical site or in your general health
  • When to follow up with your surgeon

ARM LIFT

An upper arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a procedure designed to reshape the upper arm to tighten loose skin and remove fat. Excess skin that extends from the underarm area to the elbow is caused by weight loss or natural aging. The procedure will tighten and smooth the underlying tissue that defines the shape of your arm.

Is an arm lift right for me?

Extra skin won’t just tighten up on its own. Fluctuations in weight, growing older and even heredity can cause your upper arms to sag. Weight loss and exercise will result in better muscle tone, but can’t help remove excess and sagging skin. If the underside of your upper arms are sagging or appear loose due to excess skin and fat, an arm lift may be right for you.

Thigh lift

The purpose of a thigh lift is to reshape the thighs by eliminating excess skin, and in some cases fat. It’s not uncommon for liposuction to be used during a thigh lift, for a result of smoother, better-proportioned thighs.

Is a thigh lift right for me?

  • Extra skin will not just tighten up on its own. While you can remove fat with exercise, sagging skin will not return to its original elasticity. A thigh lift procedure is intended to remove excess and sagging skin and in return give a tighterlook.

Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces and reshapes the labia minora, the skin that surrounds the vaginal opening. Labiaplasty can be performed on one or both sides of the labia. Labial enlargement is usually congenital, but can also be caused by hormonal changes or childbirth. In most women, the labia minora can only be seen when the legs are separated or apart. However, there are some women where the labia are visible even when the legs are together or barely separated.

Is labiaplasty right for me?

Labiaplasty is becoming more common for a variety of reasons, including: when a woman feels her labia is oversized, or sags unnecessarily, pain from twisting and tugging of the labia when riding a bike or during intercourse, itching, irritation and self-consciousness. Whether you find your labia unattractive, uncomfortable, or difficult to fit into clothing, labiaplasty can correct the proportions to give you a natural appearance, resulting in further confidence and comfort.

POST SURGICAL MASSAGE

This procedure is also known as a lymphatic drainage massage. The massage relieves pain, swelling and bruises and promotes circulation and healing to the body. The lymphatic massage (lymphatic drainage massage)  involves slow movements in and nearby the affected areas. Post surgical massages assist in the draining of excess fluid.

I want to express to you my gratitude for all that you have done for me. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with my results, and it has not even been 2 weeks yet. My husband and I just think you are the greatest! I will always appreciate and feel blessed that you are my surgeon. And if I will do another surgery we like to do it with you again. May God continue to bless the great work you...
