What Is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian Butt Lift uses liposuction to remove fat from almost any area of the body that has some to spare. After the fat is purified, it is injected into the buttocks to provide lift, volume, and roundness. A successful BBL requires fat grafting, meaning that the fat needs to make itself at home and develop its own blood supply in its new location. Not all fat survives, but the fat that remains provides people with their long-lasting BBL results.
How Does an Ultrasound Brazilian Butt Lift Work?
With a traditional BBL, the doctor must work blindly when placing fat into the buttocks. In order to place the fat in its optimal location, avoid any blood vessels or other structures, and remain at the correct angle to the muscle and other landmarks, Dr. Earle and Dr. Vidal use ultrasound to guide them.
By placing an ultrasound probe on the surface of the skin, the doctors can see an image on a screen of the tissues and structures as they work. Instead of placing fat into the area without any visual guidance, they can now use ultrasound imaging to make sure they place the fat in the best locations without disrupting any blood vessels or layers of muscle.
